We are pleased to announce that Gora Hanaougi Co., Ltd. has partnered with JTB Communication Design, Inc. (JCD), a member of the JTB Group providing a wide range of communication services, to launch the “CO₂ ZERO STAY®” program starting April 1, 2025.
The “CO₂ ZERO STAY®” program is available to all guests, regardless of the booking channel. As a result, guests can contribute to measures against global warming simply by staying with us.
“CO₂ ZERO STAY®” is a service that enables the carbon offsetting of the equivalent amount of CO₂ emissions generated by staying at hotels or ryokan.
It makes it possible for accommodation facilities to offer an environmentally conscious offset plan, which had previously been difficult to establish independently.
In addition, guests who use this plan may be provided with an offset certificate.
At JTB Communication Design, Inc. (JCD), through the “CO₂ ZERO STAY®” program, we aim to realize a decarbonized society for future generations by supporting environmental measures and SDGs initiatives undertaken by accommodation facilities and their guests.
We believe that it is important not to halt economic activity in order to achieve a decarbonized society, but rather to create mechanisms that offset the CO₂ emissions generated by economic activity.
At the same time, this initiative also contributes to the SDGs goals: “13. Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts” and “15. Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems.”
Gora Hanaougi Madoka no Mori has undertaken environmentally conscious initiatives that allow guests to experience carbon-free practices, including becoming the first in the world to introduce, in 2023, a cooking stove that uses the direct combustion of hydrogen gas.
Through this partnership, both companies will confront pressing environmental challenges and aim to realize a sustainable society.
