MADOKANOMORI is blessed with two private hot spring sources located within the property, each deeply connected to the unique geology of the Hakone region.
It is said that the Hakone mountains were once submerged beneath the sea. Repeated movements of the Pacific Plate trapped seawater heated by magma reservoirs reaching temperatures of approximately 1,000°C, giving rise to the hot springs that continue to flow today.
The hot spring water supplied to the open-air baths in all guest rooms emerges at a temperature of 91.1°C and is gently adjusted with added water to ensure a comfortable bathing experience.
This sulfate-rich spring, originating from the explosive crater of Soun Jigoku and blended with volcanic elements, contains abundant sulfate and carbonate ions, leaving the skin feeling deeply moisturized long after bathing.
We invite you to fully indulge in this precious gift of a volcanic land—pure, free-flowing hot spring water drawn directly from the source.
